Sadaqah Wajibah
“Those who believe should give from what We have provided them before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, friendship, or intercession.” (Qur’an 2:254)
Zakat purifies wealth and supports those in need. It is a compulsory act of worship and a pillar of Islam. Zobia Trust ensures Zakat is distributed correctly, transparently, and in line with Islamic guidelines. The nisab threshold applies, and the prescribed rate remains two point five percent.
Zakat cannot be given to immediate family members such as parents, children, or spouses. It also cannot be given to descendants of the Prophet ﷺ. Eligible recipients include the poor and needy.
Kaffarah becomes obligatory when specific religious duties are intentionally broken. It serves as a means of spiritual accountability and social support through charitable giving.
